4D HIFU
Mode of action
HIFU stands for High Intensity Focus Ultrasound (high-intensity focused ultrasound) and is a novel, non-invasive technology for face lifting, skin tightening and body shaping.
Highly concentrated ultrasound waves penetrate up to 4.5mm deep on the face and up to 16mm deep on the SMAS layer (connective tissue, muscle layer and fat tissue) under the skin and produce small micro-injuries. The fabric is selectively heated to 70 to 80 degrees. The subsequent wound healing leads to tissue restructuring which leads to an increase in collagen and elastin. The skin becomes plumper and firmer.
The highly focused ultrasound (HIFU) acts not only in the dermis but also directly on the uppermost muscle layer of the skin (SMAS = superficial muscular aponeurotic system) in order to enable a deep tightening of the tissue.
The tissue is tightened over a period of 3-6 months after the treatment. First results are visible immediately after the treatment.

Q. What is HIFU?A. HIFU is a non-surgical treatment for the face, neck, décolleté and body that uses highly focused ultrasound to relax sagging and wrinkled skin without any downtime to treat.
-
Q. What is so unique about this treatment?A. HIFU is the only non-invasive treatment that targets the deeper skin layers penetrates without damaging the upper skin layer, without cutting.
-
Q. What is collagen for? How does HIFU stimulate the formation of new collagen?A. Collagen is a natural protein that keeps your skin youthful by keeping it tightened and makes elastic. As we age, the collagen loses elasticity and that skin becomes limp. HIFU starts right here and "repairs" the skin, it stimulates the skin, helps to produce new collagen again
-
Q. Can HIFU replace a facelift?A. HIFU is an “uplift” not a “face lift.” HIFU does not involve surgery to equate has proven to be an effective alternative for all those who support are not ready for invasive treatment.
-
Q. How does HIFU differ from laser treatments?A. Lasers usually work in the superficial layers of the skin (e.g. fine lines, wrinkles, pigment changes). HIFU deals with the deep skin layer, the basic one layer that is addressed in aesthetic medicine during the facelift. Therefore, they are pretty much the same.
-
Q. Is HIFU safe?A. Ultrasound energy has been successfully used in medical diagnostics and therapy for more than 50 years. Clinical trials have confirmed the safety of this l method.
-
Q. Who is suitable for HIFU facial and neck treatment?A. For example, for a customer with a less tight skin, a sunken eyebrow line or sagging skin on the eyelids.
-
Q. Who is suitable for the HIFU cleavage treatment?A. People with moderately deep, vertical folds on the breast are ideal candidates for one HIFU breast or décolleté treatment. The cleavage is often neglected because one mostly concentrates more on the face with “beauty treatments”. But because the skin on the décolleté is thinner than that of the face, this area is quite susceptible to the sun damage. “Side sleepers” are also particularly susceptible to unsightly folds at the cleavage.
-
Q. How long does a HIFU treatment take?A. A treatment lasts between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the treated area.
-
Q. Which problem areas can be treated with HIFU? What results can be achieved?A. HIFU is aimed at all customers with sagging, slightly sagging skin on the face and neck and on the cleavage. HIFU renews the skin from the inside and gives it an overall fresher and tighter appearance.
-
Q. When will I see results?A. The regeneration process is started with just one treatment. This renewal process, in which new, fresh collagen is built up, takes approximately 2-3 months. The full result is expected within 3-6 months. For some customers we recommend an additional treatment.
-
Q. How long does the result last?A. Customers treated with HIFU still have fresh young collagen one year after the procedure. However, the skin continues to age. Future touch-up treatments can help with that, which works differently for each individual to keep pace with the aging process.
-
Q. Do I need more than his treatment?A. The majority of customers only need one treatment, but in some cases follow-up treatments may be necessary (depending on how much laxity your skin has and how your body responses to ultrasound treatment).
-
Q. Is there downtime?A. HIFU is a non-invasive procedure, so there is no downtime. You can go straight to to your usual activities.
-
Q. How does it feel?A. By delivering the microfocused ultrasound energy into the desired tissue layers the smallest coagulation points are set, which you consider a temporary feeling of warmth. Every customer feel the intensity of this treatmentindividually. If desired, your cosmetologist will take measures to make treatment as pleasant as possible for you. Usually customers feel good after the treatment and arelooking forward to the expected results.
-
Q. Are there any side effects?A. Your skin may be slightly red after the treatment, but this redness generally disappears after a few hours. It is not uncommon to getslight swellingor slight tingling of the skinfor a few days. Rarely you can get temporary side effects, such as small bruises or a local numbness, which your cosmetologist will then follow up with you.
